See Virginia Unemployment Rates by County, March 2011

YOY we are down significantly. 15-20% depending on the County for NoVa. We were already very low compared to Nationwide numbers.

Looks like we are way ahead of the curve. Good news for all of us.

Apples to apples pat. How are we doing vs everyone else? Do you think BLS configures our numbers differently from the rest of the US?

If I know someong that is going to walk away from their home and just give it back to the bank is there a way to get a deal on the house or something? They owe like $266k and that may be near what it's worth. It's in Fredericksburg.

The market MUST be better than I think. We upped our offer (again) to 97% of asking price on the house in Alexandria. The house has been on the market for 99 days, as of today.

The seller who was looking for "any reasonable offer" (according to the flyer) has decided to pull the listing entirely.

Can someone define "reasonable offer" for me, if 97% doesn't hit the mark?

As far as I know, ours is the only offer the sellers have received.

We are just bewildered right now.

Ivan, sounds to me as if your offer was more than fair, but you just have an unmotivated seller. A better house at a better price is out there and you'll find it.

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
