Slow day?
In an unrelated note I spent most of the day trying to get my emails restored, because for some reason my mail system decided to delete half of them.
On a more related note has anyone noticed how flat jobless claims have been for the past couple of weeks? I hope that we can reduce them by another ~100K before they level off.
REITS are up across the board. Even that doomer Bob Pisani commented that earnings beat expectations for apt. reits and we may be seeing a turnaround sooner than forecast.
Is your email hotmail? Same thing happened to me housebuyer, it turned out some site had taken it over and was deleting them. Change your password so they can't get in again :)

It really is amazing how quickly the economy appears to be rebounding. Sure there are still a lot of problems and we still need to see if it will survive without life support, but it appears like it keeps improving faster than expectations.
Wunderbar-
It was tuffmail, my work email. Luckily the help desk was surprisingly helpful :) Thanks for the advice about changing my password that is probably a good idea.
hb,
I guess we will have to see. The "spin" is certainly turning positive.
This is the type of house considered "renovated" (atleast according to the listing agent) nowadays in N. Arlington?

Ugly linoleum floors and wood paneling?
2 bdrm, 1.5 baths for $599k... What a steal! lol.
Jewel-
I agree that is crazy to call that house renovated. From the outside it looks like it is a decent size, but from the inside it looks tiny.
Inventory is trending up everywhere except Manassas. It will be interesting to see if this continues through the summer.
something i saw today.
A homeless woman at ballston at wilson and N Fairfax, she looked nice, formerly middle class, she had a sign saying "Homeless, family living in car".
I believed her.
pat,
I'm sure that happens alot more than people think. There are County services available and non-profits that provide rent money, shelter, etc.
I had a tenant in a job loss situation with no savings whatsoever. I gave her the names of several organizations to call. She didn't even know to call the County.
I let her go 4 months. She would have been on the street with her daughter had she not made those phone calls (and had a bleeding-heart LL).

Most people are only a paycheck or two away from disaster. Half of all americans had no equity prior to the
Greater Depression, it's much worse now.
I worry about what happens as the 10 million unemployed exhaust their benefits. The word from the senate is there will be no further extension, and technically the average UI benefit is below the poverty level.
