Pre-Renovations

This first one is in Fauquier County for an asking price of $359,000:

"What you see is not what you get. This home has been completely gutted. Renovation is scheduled to be completed by the middle of May 2008. If purchaser has a ratified contract prior to contractor ordering granite and carpet, they may have a choice in finishes ordered."
This fun one was posted earlier this week in our comments section by "Slogan74". It's a mere $399,900 in Fairfax County:

"Let's GET REAL!*It's a Foreclosure+It's NOT cute nor cozy+ Needs some serious rehab...BUT! then it can be a Star!& it's Priced for Future Stardom!Bath in Master is 'gone'...get over it+This is a BIG house for LITTLE dollars+Terrific Back Yard+And, possibly THE BEEST SCHOOLS in NoVa+2%SP Assist w Clos.Costs & $2500 fix up credit+....Let's Make a Deal!"

Is anybody really going to pay $400K for something that needs $100k of work just to make it habitable?

Sorry, on further inspection, what I took to be problems with the roof and exterior are in fact digital artifacts caused by pixelation. Still, anything that cheerfully acknowledges the master bathroom is MIA should be coming in well south of $400K in my opinion...
