Harriet - Is it just my perception or is the volume of listings with asking prices below prior sales prices growing? It sure seems like it is.

Readers may find their personal stories and their blog material interesting. For example, there is a blog called nova bubble fallout (novabubblefallout.blogspot.com) where the blogger posts exhaustive lists of homes for sale with asking prices less than their last sales prices. Some properties are selling at 30 to 40 percent off the price paid in 2005, which would surely come as a surprise to most given that the overall price stats show only minor price declines.
Another great blog is bubblemeter.blogspot.com. The author posts market stats and observations and encourages frank discussions about the state of the market.
This is just an idea for a piece that your readers may find interesting.

Thanks so much for the mention! I normally like to catch the WP Chats but was out "viewing" some properties by K. Hovnanian for sale. They were in Culpeper County, and they were priced at least $60K too high. It was educational, though.
Yes, the volume of "short sale" listings is growing. It's taking me a lot longer to just compile them all, and there are probably a lot I missed this time. For this latest Prince William update, all of these listings were listed in the last 6 days!
